Jaree/Neves ascended and we’re like whoa. New constellation in the sky – of an owl. Somber mood around the campsite with some notes of joy/rememberings.

It’s late evening. Mixed vibes. Jartha wanders around per usual. We wake up (and roll) Kex feels forboding, Lux feels good but without special eye power.

Rel sees us in the morning – says Gladius had to take off. Says WhisperB needs to speak with us and a bullywug messenger kid is here for Kex. Says name’s BIggums, Croakley Biggums. Says he’s come from Kex’s dad. Kex is very skeptical.

Croakley Biggums shows up, Jartha welcomes him inside. Notices something burned. Kex is sizing shit up. What are you here for. I have this message from your father. Shall I read it to you. It’s a note about Kex connecting with a chosen bride. Kex says no I am a man. Kex insists HE IS A MAN TRAPPED IN A FROGS BODY. I’M A MAN. We half kinda sing some Chicago and talk about them. Kex is like read it again. They got you a bride. Bullywug bride. Kex is defiant. Says he needs a human woman that he loves and trusts to kiss him.  Kex touts his prowess but no true love yet.

Kex is like Biggums – give me that thing. Kex pens on the other side “Pa-pah, I am a human, turned frog. I need a woman of true love to kiss me turn back to a human. That witch made me like this. I don’t want to marry. I am stuck like this. Can you kill the witch? Maybe the curse will be lifted. Signed, with love, Kexyl

We ride regular, loaned, horses to Ash. We roll into a new-to-us, the Copper Claymore.

Jartha is like this seems like a solider bar – follow my lead. Jartha finds his drunk friend. We made it, how long you been here. Said to come in the morning. Drozin is drunk, tries to get us on plan. A giant automataton, gents (Scottish), welcome to the copper claymore. What can I get you men. He’s made of copper. Lux orders a Winchendon Mule. Jartha gets the Flaming Moe. The bartender’s name is Copper McLeod. Well met. Jartha starts talking to Drozin. What’s up dude. Also mentions the pipe.

Drozin is glad he smoked it. Drozin is like we need you on our side. It’s important that you remember. Jartha expresses confusion and mistrust. Drozin is like we from the academy need to stick together. Jartha is like do you remember when I left – it’s hazy to me. Jartha asks like seven questions in a row about smoking red crystals. Drozin is like you don’t understand who you are/how important you are to the rest of us. Jartha is like tell me. These guys are my new soldiers/squad. Kex and Lux are like huh. Drozin is like you have to find more. You need to remember, not be told what happens, Jartha. Drozin doesn’t have any crystals on him, man. But knows where he can get some more. You must seek out the oracle. Jartha is like TELL ME WHO I WAS. You’re very important to us. Jartha is like it’s gone. Drozin is like once you remember, you’ll realize that’s not true.

Jartha comes to talk to us is like I don’t trust this guy. We encourage Jartha to get more info. Jartha gets grog for him and drozin. Kex/Lux start playing cards. Jartha tries to solicit more information from Drozin. Drozin is like the instructors of the heather academy live on – but we need you. Drozin was a hand-to-hand instructor. Jartha apparently was a student of Drozin’s. Drozin is like you don’t understand what the heather academy can do. Many of your memories may never be restored – I don’t know that’s not my game. Jartha keeps ordering the grog. Lots of talk about memory loss and it’s connected to the death knight. Jartha keeps ordering and ordering. Jartha drunkenly stumbles back and talks to us a bit then Drozin comes over.

In the middle of the convo, Kex is like why don’t you trust him. Drozin is like I can see im not wanted here.

Lux starts following Drozin. Jartha asks Kex to cover his tab. Kex covers the tab. Drozin passes out drunk. Jartha goes and checks on him. Seems pretty pass out. He’s breathing. Jartha put him in the rescue position so if he pukes he’ll be ok.

Jartha wants to tie up Drozin. We hatch a plan. Jartha ties up Drozin, lux covers the door. Drozin has white foam dripping from his mouth. Lux is like he’s been poisoned. Jartha tries to get him to puke. The body has gone stiff. Jartha unties him and Kex goes to talk to the bartender. Kex is like the man in there isdying from something you gave him. McCloud is like people must consume responsibly. Kex is all about persuading the automaton. Kex persuades him well, McCloud is like that individual is not what he appears to be. He is some sort of fire reborn creature. He appears how he used to be, but is now a warrior of flame. FIRE BAD. Kex tells us what’s up. Jartha goes through his pockets and finds a note: convert jartha to our cause or do not return. Signed Vario.

Jartha is like let’s get the dead guy to talk. Five questions. Who else is teacher of heathers, location of the oracle, why does vario want to convert me. Also apparently Jartha is toking up.

Kex: why does vario want to convert Jartha?

Drozin:  Vario needs all the major players of the heather academy unified

Kex: Please identify the main players of the heather academy.

Drozin: Major players are the eight instructors and the commandant

Kex: Is Jartha the commandant

Drozin: no.

Kex: How far along are you in terms of getting the major players

Drozin: all eight professors have been converted into ashborn caveleirs

Kex: What role is Jartha amongst the major players?

Drozin: Jartha is commandant heather’s son! (note – insert fortunate son)

We ask Jartha about his parents. Nothing. Can we kill you ask you questions. Jartha is like you can try. We ask Jartha to give him a soldier’s burial and Jartha is like the sex act?

Lux flips the bartedner some coin, says sorry about the mess. McCloud is like don’t come back. Cookie lights out the kitchen “I took something let’s go”.

Jartha “shoulders the body”, dumps it in the alley. We gallop off. We go to Nethercyclone to visit Don Gladius.

We have  beers, cheers to family. Tilda has heavenly light ale in addition to our usual ports and meads. Also Ashley Wednesday. Cooks talks about making copper leaf salad and copper penny pudding.

We ask tilda and she’s like yeah gladius wants to see you.

We roll into Gladius’ office – he doesn’t look very happy. Gladius is like I don’t like the mess at the Copper Claymore. We debate the ethics/procedures of cleaning up the body. Gladius is pissed that Jartha was smoking crystals. Gladius is like he was a weird guy.

We tell Gladius about the Drozin story. Including Commadant Lassard. Mention that Vario is the one seeking Jartha. Mention Jartha is the son of the Commadant Lassard.

Gladius is stunned. Gladius says the commandant was a good man – didn’t know he had a son. Jartha shows him the Vario note. Gladius casts detect magic – this is from the evil one himself. We tell Gladius everything about Drozin.

Gladius says Drozin was an ash born cavalier. Gladius mentions the commandant is dead. Before the fadings – a death knight appeared and destroyed his entire camp. Seems like about seven years ago. We understand with Drozin’s death, there are seven ash born heather alumni who remain alive.

Kex says don’t trust Cookie. Kex is like only trust us. Kex starts lecturing jartha about rank and tells him who and who not to trust. Kex then tells Gladius we cant trust anyone.

Gladius suggests we seek out other ash born cavaliers in a military sense. He may happen to know where a few are located. He doesn’t believe there is redemption for servants of vario. Perhaps the cavaliers would know. They are known to be fantastic warriors.

Gladius recommends searching the NW – we have heard of an ashborn alone, to the far far west, two traveling together. One alone has a crew, two together are minimal with crew. Jartha is like it’s a trap and Gladius is like now.

Kex “I’m not a tactical prince or anything”

Gladius mentions an ancient statue that was toppled. We discuss Jayne from Firefly. Thinks the solo group is near a toppled statue. About ¾ of day.

We decide to crash. Lux wakes up with thermal vision. Can see through walls for a distance of 15 feet.

Kexyl feels EVEN MORE IMPENDING DOOM.

Cooks makes us moonberry pastries and dwarven forge hash. Debate about whether to eat it. We ask him to come with us. Kex is still super suspect about Cooky.

We roll on out. Kex “2 times zero is zero, right”

We roll out of town, we see a toppled statue. We come to a clearing, with a giant sword that has fallen into many pieces. Shattered sword is 60 feet. Jartha rolls right up to the sword.

Kex touches the sword to see if it’s magic. It is magic. Kex learns its properties, no charges, properties = I can be wielded through the mind by way of attunement.  It is completely magical, affected by the spell of all time weightlessness. Kex, unbeknownst to us, tries to attune and fails.

Kex tries to pick it up. Fails.

Lux advises that we hide and let him scout and is completely ignored as Kexyl is like Jartha go pick up that sword.

Jartha hoists up this hilt, feels like nothing in his hands. The hilt (bottom 1/3^rd) is 30 feet long. Kex is like bring it here so we can use it. Aaron drew a dick sword. Debate as to how Jartha drops or places a sword.

Lux takes a spot on the ridge, kex and jartha head towards the bush in question.  We fight archer – Jartha throws the huge sword for some damage. The sword hilt shatters into a million pieces.  (Ed note – AI and I disagree how big a giant 60′ sword is…)

Ok – listen up. So the death priest reaches to the heavens  summons a huge column of flame, right on jartha’s position. Fire AND HOLY damage, what ever in god’s name that means.

Thundering in with loud cacophony, is the ashborn cavalier

Jartha rolls a 1! Drops his sword and takes out his bow with much ado.

Kex rolls a 20! Abdominal injury – IMMEDIATE DEATH

Then another 20!

Eventually the nightmare/ashborn separate.

Cookie get hit and, prodded by kex, “I get burned all the time, I’m a chef!” also proceeds to hit as well as he can, the nightmare.

The Ashborn attacks Jartha and says ONE OF US

Jartha says to the ashborn cavalier – hey do you know who I am. The Ashborn says you are commandant son, I taught you sword play. Jartha is like let me pick up my sword. Ashborn kicks sword to Jartha.

Fights ensue – we kill everyone except the Ashborn. Jartha knocked out the cavalier. Ties him up, rifles through his pouches. Jartha strips the cavalier of armor and weapons and ties him up. Jartha stalls making a decision. Cooks is like as him the questions.

Jartha tries to imtimidate the ashborn. Asks one question, it doesn’t go well, and Jartha knifes him in the throat.
