Session 13

Game Date: 04/08/2023

We’ve been training for months. Jaree has repelled fades around Ash. Cleo Pipe taking crew to Winchendon. Alabeth – whole buildings are fading. Dragon left town with her dad’s diary. Kexyl and Lux go to the tavern.

Kex and Lux meet Jartha – a supposed war veteran. Shoot the breeze. He’s been wondering. A shadowy figure is in the corner. The guy is dressed fancy, has a cane with a stone, and is working on a watch.

 

Kexyl approaches – asks about that watch. Fogbow puts watch away and they start chatting. Fogbow not sure about the frog man Kex. They chat about time. Fogbow is looking for a certain clock shop to ensure they are all on time. Kex invites him over to our table. Turns out he’s looking for Morris.

Turns out this guy’s name is Ogelsby Kincaid – layered tuxedo, fancy. Limps over to the table. We all meet each other.

Gladius comes out to meet us – immediately drawn to Ogelsby. Joins us, meets the new people. He talks about how he and his group have rooted out the cultists in Ash. Mentions that he’s not sure about an old pumphouse at near the coast. Might be cultists out there. Cleo may have lived there for a short time – want to make sure that we find intel as needed. Gladius also suggests visiting Rel and Jaree’s camp. We agree to go to the pumphouse.

Ogel notices a sundial, check it out. Not happy with the performance of the time device – something is out of sync.

We notice the followers of jaree have a bit of a protection brigade.

We make our way to the pump house. Rickety place, dim, gloomy. We open the door – we here snorts and growls. Lux picks lock to south door. We start fighting bear people. We defeat the bear people.

We go to another room – pentagram, coffins. Dead cultists in one that’s been drained. Kex pulls of arm band, gives to Jartha. Desk has a false bottom with some documents/diagram. Notes show experiments, some details about fade creation within an individual. Diagram shows someone above the pentagram in grave pain. There’s another body in one of the coffins, dead, small, been here a long time.

We go downstairs – statue of pumphouse finder, grate, stairs. Grate goes about 20 feet down – but not much to go on. Smells rank.

We go up the other stairs. We find a rickety door and a grate. There’s a ladder under the grate. Jartha opens grate, nudges Kex down there. Corridor made of concrete with descending path. Tunnel, running water. We hear what sounds like a large creature moving around – sounds like it takes three steps at time. We hear a voice that sounds like a small child “help me, I’m down here”. We are very suspicious.

We throw rocks and try to see the monster. Gaping maw and large appendages. We ask what how we can help, no response.

Lux firebombs – does minimal damage but we engage this smelly huge thing in a fight. We incinerate it after a battle.

We go back and tell Gladius – he gives us 200 gold each. We go shopping for Jartha. Jartha bonds with Wayland – gets new chain mail and his sword improved. Ogelsby sees a sundial, again. His watch is 15 minutes ahead of the sundial.

We had to Jaree’s camp. Looks like they are building walls – some crude buildings there, construction. Tons of people. Several hundred.

We see Rel teaching the way of the shelayle.

Rel gives us things

Figurine of Jaree – turns into owl for eight hours every two days; Lux takes.

Cube of impossible weight: can weigh infinity, works for an hour every day. Kex takes.

Sir Gibbons has a stand there, acknowledges the squash warriors. Gives us squash.

Then a weird sound, and a building begins to appear. Half of the building lands on the ground – just magically gone/faded. The other half that is there is the Time Inn. Out steps Morris.
