Located near the town of Ash, the Fading Forest is a section of woodland whose trees are fading from the inside out, leaving many phytophthora trees. The players were directed to the forest by Heath the barkweaver. In the forest they encountered a group of wandering shamans, who in fact were plundering the forest of valuable reagents, which they later sold at the Liches Horde.

The forest is overseen by the mysterious bird known as Jaree. Appearing sometimes as an owl or a falcon, Jaree has lived in the forest for ages, and watches over the final weeks of the forest as it slowly fades. Upon which its completion Jaree’s life ends.
